It’s been two weeks with little to no photographable progress, although there has been a lot of painting progress. The painters have been working away taping, prepping, filling nail holes, staining wood, painting trim, taping trim, and now finally painting walls. It’s been a lot of paint this, let it dry, cover it up, repeat. The goal is to have the basement walls finished by the end of the day today so flooring and tile can be finished down there. The painters are then hoping to have the walls painted upstairs by Wednesday so the floors can go in upstairs. From there, it will be tile, plumbing fixtures, appliances, electrical/AV, and trim-out. These last few weeks are where the magic happens and we are ready!
We happened to catch the kitchen counters right after they were installed so I was able to take a few photos before they were covered up. Absolutely love how the porcelain countertops turned out. It truly is the closest look to marble that I have ever seen. It helps tie together the island and perimeter colors beautifully with the shades of taupe and gray. I cannot wait to see the rest of the design come together.
The craftsmanship in the custom, inset cabinets is stunning. The cabinetmaker will be out again soon to finish the final details. Picture elongated subway tile and a brass pot filler here!!
Two floating shelves will go to the left of the window and there will be two sconces above the window.
A little sneak peak of the stamped patio out back. The “stump” coming out of the patio will be the location of our gas firepit. I plan to share more of the landscape plan soon, but the cleared area in the middle of the trees is the future site of our new playground set. I have been leaning towards putting a nice looking Astroturf in this area instead of mulch or pea gravel. Anyone have any experience with this?
That’s all for today. We are heading out today for a fun weekend at the lake. Should have some good progress shots this coming week! Cheers to the weekend!
